Delegation of Burundi for Visit in the KIT

The Minister of Burundi for external affairs and international cooperation, Laurent Kavakuré visited on his Germany trip at the middle of May this year also the KIT. A special highlight of his visit on the Campus North of the KIT was surely the bioliq® pilot plant, where synthetic fuels can be produced from biomass residuals. This is an interesting aspect for the green Burundi especially referring to the cultivation of coffee plants. In this case, the biomass would be a precious, but completely unused raw material, according to Laurent Kavakuré. He also spoke about the partnership agreement of his country with Germany, especially with Baden-Württemberg. He also noted, that the visit at KIT gave him many new ideas for possible common projects.

KIT division manager and speaker renewable energies, Dr.-Ing. Karl-Friedrich Ziegahn led informatively through the event and answered the questions of the delegates referring to other interesting research activities of the KIT.
